About Glendale

With a population of over 200,000 residents, Glendale is the third largest city in Los Angeles County. It can be found at the San Fernando Valley’s southeastern end, just 8 miles north of downtown Los Angeles. This neighborhood is bisected by the Golden State Freeway, the Ventura Freeway, the Glendale Freeway, and the Foothill Freeway, which makes it easily accessible from every direction. The neighboring communities of Sun Valley, Tujunga, La Canada Flintridge, La Crescenta, Burbank, Griffith Park, Eagle Rock, Pasadena, the Atwater Village, and Glassell Park surround Glendale.

Glendale includes one of the largest communities of Armenians outside of Armenia. While a large number of Armenians immigrated in the 1970s, the majority of them followed in an attempt to escape the former Soviet Union a decade later. This new Armenian population integrated into the community very well, and today they own a number of prominent businesses in Glendale.
